Recall
What the screen timeline shows, how far back it goes, and what happens to older frames.
One continuous timeline
Recall is a single chronology of what Selv has captured from your screen and audio — not separate screen and audio tabs. Scroll back through it the way you'd scroll through a photo library.
What stays, and for how long
Text and search context are normally retained beyond the image window, subject to your data and deletion choices. Screenshot images are what age out: by default Selv keeps full-quality images for 14 days, then keeps a smaller re-encoded version until 30 days, after which the image file itself is removed — while extracted text can remain available within your plan’s search reach. Deleted source images cannot be recreated by upgrading. Images may also be removed earlier if your storage cap is reached or disk space runs low. All three numbers (image window, full-quality window, storage cap) are adjustable in Settings.
Recall tools
A tools menu on the Recall page gives you:
- Pause screen capture (or Start screen capture) — stop or resume capturing, on demand.
- Screen capture exclusions — choose apps Selv should never capture.
- Scrollable pages — a document-style view of long pages you scrolled through.
- Recordings and speaker tools — manage audio recordings and who Selv thinks is speaking.
If a recording behind a transcript can no longer be found, Recall says so plainly rather than showing a broken player, with a Retry option.
