What you need
Selv runs on macOS on Apple silicon (M-series Macs). It's designed to do its AI work locally on your machine, so a recent Mac gives you the best experience.
Installing
- Download Selv from the link you received.
- Open the downloaded file and move Selv to your Applications folder.
- Launch it from Applications.
The first time you open it
- Set your password. This unlocks Selv and is part of how your data stays encrypted — so keep it somewhere safe. There's no back door: if you lose it, we can't unlock your data for you.
- Grant the permissions you want. macOS will ask before Selv can capture your screen or microphone. You choose what to allow, and you can change it later in System Settings.
- Let it build up context. Selv gets more useful as it has more to remember. Give it a little time.
